What We Do

    Our Mission

Fort Worth Community Collaborative (FWCC) is a community closet in its truest form — repurposing excess clothing with care to eliminate clothing insecurity in North Texas.
We connect people through free access to quality clothing while reducing textile waste, building community through dignity, sustainability, and shared care.

    Our Vision

We envision a local ecosystem of mindful textile consumption where all people have access to clothing that makes them feel confident, comfortable, and celebrated — no questions asked. Together, we are weaving dignity and sustainability into every thread of our community.

    What We Do

FWCC operates Cowtown Closet, a free and inclusive community closet that redistributes high-quality, gently used clothing to anyone who needs it. We prioritize dignity, access, and environmental responsibility by:

    • Circulating secondhand clothing through a “shared closet” model

    • Combatting clothing insecurity with zero cost and zero judgment

    • Reducing overconsumption and textile waste

    • Creating joyful, empowering shopping experiences

    • Encouraging volunteerism, collaboration, and mutual aid

    How We Do It

    🛍 Open Shop Saturdays
Every 1st and 3rd Saturday, our storefront is open to the public (9am–1pm) — no questions asked.

    💵 Donation-Based Mondays
Every Monday (10am–2pm), community members can access unlimited clothing with a $5 donation — supporting weekday operations while keeping services accessible.

    🔐 Emergency Clothing Lockers
24/7 access points for partner agencies, schools, and service providers to fulfill urgent clothing needs.

    🎪 Pop-Up Closets
We bring mobile shopping experiences directly to local schools, community centers, and events.

♻️ Clothing Rescue & Reuse Events
Volunteers help sort, repair, and repurpose donated items — ensuring nothing usable goes to waste.

🧵 Sustainable Sorting & Repair Practices
We sort intentionally, recycle responsibly, and repair or upcycle wherever possible to extend the life of every item.

    🤝 Collaborative Partnerships
We work with schools, mutual aid groups, nonprofits, and neighbors to expand our reach and deepen impact.
